(KENT, Wash) – Cornwell Tools recently signed a deal to be title sponsor of both the Jr. Drag Racing Series and the May 3rd All High School Drags at Pacific Raceways for 2019. The deal includes options to support both popular race programs in subsequent years at the Kent track. Cornwell Tools has been the official hand tools of Pacific Raceways since 2017.

“We couldn’t ask for a better partner to help promote and support young racers in the northwest,” said John Ramsey, Pacific Raceways’ general manager. “Cornwell Tools has the unique ability to work directly with and support high school auto shop programs throughout the region. We are excited to build both programs and energize the entry point for NHRA racers.”

As part of its sponsorship, Cornwell Tools will be giving young racers the chance to win tools and other products. To help build the alumni class of racers at High School Drags, Cornwell will be giving the winning racer a tool box and set of hand tools, similar to what it did last year to the winning high school team as part of its presenting sponsorship package. Likewise, the junior dragster racers will be able to race for tools to go along with winning trophies.

“Our goal is to help grow drag racing in the northwest and the best way to do that is to start at the grass-roots level to increase participation with both the high school and the junior dragster programs,” said Jason Neil, Cornwell Tools district manager.

Cornwell Tools was presenting sponsor of the All High School Drags in 2018. It takes over the Jr. Dragster title sponsorship from popular hand cleaner EF-65, which will continue to be involved with Pacific Raceways as its official hand cleaner. It was announced earlier this week that Cornwell Tools will be the official tools of John Force Racing, NHRA’s 20 time world championship team.

Racers in Pacific Raceways Jr. Drag Racing Series compete in 13 races beginning in April and ending in August and includes the 2nd Annual Mark Lyle Invitational, which is slated for August 24. The iconic All High School Drags will be celebrating its 49th year at Pacific Raceways and features a high school class and an alumni class of racers 25 years old and younger.

Pacific Raceways is the largest motorsports complex in the northwest featuring an NHRA championship dragstrip; legendary 2.25-mile, 10-turn road course; ProFormance Racing School; Pacific Grand Prix karting track and a regional motocross track. The raceway will host the 32nd Annual NHRA Northwest Nationals on August 2-4.

Cornwell Tools is the oldest mobile tool company in the market. The 100-year-old family and employee owned company is based in Wadsworth, Ohio where it makes its own line of hand tools. The company has over 650 franchisees with 15 dealers in western Washington, including the number one dealer in the nation.
