(KENT, Wash) – Cornwell Tools has announced its title sponsorship of the 2018 GM Nationals at Pacific Raceways. The 5th Annual Cornwell Tools GM Nationals Presented by Jet Chevrolet will take place on Saturday, September 15, 2018, it was announced today.
In addition to an all-GM drag race, the one-day event features a large car show backed by the Pacific Northwest Camaro Club.
“The GM Nationals is our early fall signature drag race,” said John Ramsey, Pacific Raceways general manager. “The addition of a national brand like Cornwell Tools will help us add to the event’s continued growth. We have a plan with our co-promoter – the Pacific Northwest Camaro Club – to make the race into a fan favorite.”
Spectators at the race will have a chance to win tools and gear from Cornwell Tools. The raceway is looking to add feature cars to the race as well. “Mid-September has some of the best weather of the year,’ Ramsey said. “There are thousands of Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Cadillac and GM fans in the Puget Sound region; we want to make this race into a must-see event.”
In addition to its title sponsorship of the GM race, Cornwell Tools will be a presenting sponsor of the All High School Drags scheduled for May 4, 2018. Cornwell Tools will be at several other events throughout the season offering tool support to racers and fans. This past year, Cornwell Tools became the official tool of the Pacific Raceways dragstrip crew.
“We are very excited to continue our partnership with Pacific Raceways,” said Jason Neil, Cornwell Tools district manager. “We are looking forward to helping to promote the GM Nationals and High School Drags.”
Pacific Raceways is the largest motorsports complex in the northwest featuring an NHRA championship dragstrip; legendary 2.25-mile, 10-turn road course; ProFormance Racing School; Pacific Grand Prix karting track and a regional motocross track.
