As the calendar continues to creep closer to the 34th Annual Flav-R-Pac NHRA Northwest Nationals at The Place to Race July 29-31, we need to keep you updated on event information. In this edition of Track Insider the subject is event ticketing and the expert is Kim Webster, raceway ticketing manager.
TI: How are ticket sales going? Are there still good seats available?
KW: Ticket sales are going at a steady pace. We are excited about some of the upcoming promotions and ticket offers that will be coming your way. As for seating, there is never a bad seat when you are watching those Nitro Funny cars and everyone else that participates in the Northwest Nats and there are still some premium seats available.
TI: There were a large number of ticket customers who rolled over their tickets from the 2020 and 2021 Covid-canceled events. How are roll-over customers being notified of their ticket status and how will they receive their tickets to this year’s race?
KW: We are so very grateful to our rollover customers. They can call or email at any time to check on their tickets. We will be using their original ticket delivery method to get tickets out to them. E-tickets will be emailed in mid-May and any tickets that have a request for mail delivery will go out in Early June. All rollover customers will also be receiving VIP parking passes.
TI: What’s the advantage of customers using e-tickets over the printed ticket?
KW: The biggest advantage to using the e-ticket is that you always have them on your phone or in your email box. You can simply show us the scannable code at the gate to go right in. Granted, the printed and mail tickets do make for a great souvenir!
TI: What’s the incentive for customers to buy their tickets early?
KW: You might be able to grab those seats you have been waiting years to get that are a little closer to the starting line or finish line. We do often offer discounts during our early sales. The biggest incentive to buying early is that ticket prices go up one month out and then again during race weekend!
TI: What sort of hospitality is available for race fans this year and how do they go about buying it?
KW: We have some very fun hospitality this year! As always, we have the Finish Line Club at a $75 addition to your ticket price, which puts you right at the finish line. It features covered and outdoor seating, with an easy grab and go complimentary lunch. We are also adding the long-awaited swamp cooler air fans inside to make sure everyone stays cool.
Club Nitro at a $175 addition to your ticket price is getting some upgrades as well. It will no longer be only standing room. This ultra-exclusive area will have a limited number of lounge couches, chairs, and side tables to meet and hang out with fellow race fans. It will be a place to enjoy the up-close action and feel of the starting line in full effect…the smell of nitro, the smoke from the burn outs, and the tar from the tires!! Like other premium hospitality venues, lounge seating is limited. Like the Finish Line Club experience, Club Nitro will have its own cash bar and set of restrooms.
New for 2022 is The Backyard Bar. Located near Grandstand G on the tower side of the track we have added an experience for everyone 21 and older at a cost that everyone can afford, which is only $30 in addition to your ticket price. This is an area under the trees with full shade, restricted only for people who pay to enter and limited in capacity. The Backyard Bar will feature ice-cold Beer in kegs, solo cups, and games like horseshoes, cornhole and a handful of others all in a nice laid-back area to hang out with your buddies without all the crowds.
