(KENT, Wash) – Pacific Raceways’ submittal to build 200,000 square feet of garage and commercial shop space has been accepted by King County.  The raceway received a Notice of Complete Application yesterday from the county clearing the way for the review process to begin.

The notice by the county starts the time period for permit processing specified in King County Code.  Earlier this month, the raceway and its consultants provided the county with necessary studies on impacts of the project as well as drawings of the buildings that will house personal garages and commercial shop space, including space for Pacific Innovation Center, said Jason Fiorito, Pacific Raceways president.

“King County now begins the review and analysis of our completed package,” said Fiorito.  “If everything happens according to schedule, we should begin construction in the summer.”

The initial phase of the project will take place on the south end of Lot “C” – a 40-acre grass field on the north side of the race track.  “We have been committed to working with our neighbors on this project and will continue to accommodate their concerns,” said Fiorito.  “It’s important that we do this the right way.”

The raceway has commitments for about 60 percent occupancy of the first phase of buildings, said Fiorito.  “We are reaching out to those who have already expressed an interest in the initial offer.  They are excited to hear that King County has the complete application and is moving forward with the review process.”

In addition to its prime location, building tenants will have access to monthly track days on Pacific Raceways 2.25-mile road course and championship quarter-mile drag strip.  Garage spaces come in various configurations and start at 1,000 square feet.  Interested parties are invited to contact Pacific Raceways for additional information.
