New Barrier Installed on Road Course
More than 7,000 linear feet of steel barrier has been installed at Pacific Raceways over the winter. The project is part of a planned upgrade of the 2.25-mile road course that will occur over the next several years, according to track officials.
Petersen Brothers of Sumner installed the triple-high W rail in areas of the track that had earthen berms to help with containment. Assure Painting of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho has been hired as the painting contractor.
The barrier was installed from Turn 1 to Turn 2 on driver’s right, exit of Turn 2 to Turn 3A (both sides of the track); Turn 3A to 3B on driver’s left; exit of Turn 3B to Turn 5 on driver’s right; Turn 5A to 5B on driver’s left; Turn 6 to entrance of Turn 8 on driver’s right. Other areas of the track will be scheduled after engineering studies are completed.

Outside of track days, the first race of the season will be March 31 – April 1 with Portland Karting. The SOVREN Spring Sprints – the first car race of the season – will take place April 21-23. Drag racing begins in April. Rounding out a busy schedule, the Raceway’s onsite partner – ProFormance Racing School – has more than 90 dates scheduled in 2023.
