Track Records Fall During Friday Night Qualifying

Pro Stock teammates Dallas Glenn and Greg Anderson traded the track record back and forth and Top Fuel’s Brittany Force blistered Pacific Raceways speed record in Friday’s qualifying sessions at the 36th Annual Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals.

Force’s under-the-lights qualifying run posted an astonishing 340.47 mile per hour blast one of the few times this season that a Top Fuel dragster has eclipsed 340 mph breaking the old track speed mark of 338.94. Nice and fast for sure, but not low qualifier. That belonged to Doug Kalitta in his Mac Tools dragster that went 3.671-seconds nearly eclipsing last year’s record setting run of 3.670.

With ideal conditions on Friday, Pro Stock’s Greg Anderson and Dallas Glenn put on a thrilling show, trading track records during each qualifying session. Glenn set it to start qualifying and Anderson finished it off with a massive 6.472 at 211.13.

Qualifying resumes today with three rounds of nitro qualifying and two rounds of Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle. Final eliminations are on Sunday. Tickets and hospitality for Saturday and Sunday are available here.
