The weather looks perfect this weekend for the 36th Annual Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals with sunny skies and mid-70s in the forecast. You can’t beat that in mid-July! Here’s a few things you need to know about this weekend.
Friday gates open at 9 a.m. but we are encouraging fans to come later and stay later. The manufacturer’s midway will open by 4 p.m. Top Alcohol leads off the evening session at 6 followed by Pro Stock Motorcycle and Pro Stock Car. Fans can take part in an evening track walk and Cacklefest at 7 and Friday’s opening ceremonies at 9:10. Fuel Funny Car and Top Fuel headline Friday night with qualifying under-the-lights beginning at 9:15. Don’t forget to stop by the Ben Bridge Jewelry booth in the pro pits before 7 p.m. and sign up for the Tag Heuer Aquamarine watch giveaway during Top Fuel qualifying.
Saturday morning begins with Sportsman eliminations shortly after 9. Top Fuel and Funny Car will have three qualifying attempts between noon and 6:30 p.m. as the field gets set for Sunday.
Get to the track early on Sunday for opening ceremonies, which starts at 9:30 and includes driver intros and the SealMaster Track Walk. This year’s flyover will be two T-6 Texan World War II propeller-driven plans from the Heritage Flight Museum and sponsored by MyAudioVideo.com and Explore Auburn. Sunday is full-on eliminations all day with a fan-friendly Winner’s Circle ceremony scheduled for right after the last run of the day!
Parking Info
Parking lots open generally one hour before the gates open. Parking is $20 per day unless you are driving an oversized motorhome for day camping. There is a free lot. Shuttles will run from the outer parking lots throughout the day. VIP parking is in A Lot and disabled parking is around the development buildings. Diamond Parking is managing the parking lots with help from the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Concessions
There is plenty of great food available throughout the facility from pizza to churros to roasted corn on the cob to scones to hamburgers and fries and everything in between.
