OktoberFAST Revs up Invitational Weekend

The last road race of the season takes the green flag October 6-8 with the 3rd Annual Pacific Raceways Invitational presented by Michael’s Automotive Group. It’s two days of racing (Saturday and Sunday) with a Friday test day. Highlighting the Invitational weekend will be Saturday’s OktoberFAST which features the PNW Ground Pounder Challenge, a stockcar-only grid; the return of the Wild West Sedan Challenge; and the season finale of the Formula Ford Emerald Cup.

OktoberFAST will also feature a huge off-track fan zone that includes a car show, more than 50 memorabilia and craft booths, and Bavarian-themed food and fall craft beer garden. Saturday’s price of admission is only $10 for an adult ticket, juniors and seniors are only $5 and kids 12-under and active-duty military are free.

The Ground Pounder Challenge is a series that included earlier stops at Pacific Raceways and Portland International Raceway and features purpose-built road racing stockcars that can be some of the fastest cars on-track during the weekend. It’s the final two races of the Ground Pounder Challenge with a signature watch up for grabs thanks to the sponsorship of Ben Bridge Jewlers.

The Wild West Sedan Challenge features some of the quickest sportscars on the west coast in three classes based on displacement. Saturday’s race day will also include the Formula Ford Emerald Cup, which featured 7 races at four west coast tracks for open wheel racecars. In addition to the three specialty races, the weekend will feature a variety of race groups on the historic 2.25-mile road course including Vintage Small – Medium – Large Bore, Formula Cars, Sports Cars, and Late Model Sports Cars.

Tickets are available here and more information can be found at pacificracewaysinvitational.com. On-track action will take place all three days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pacific Raceways concessionaire — the Four Horsemen — will be providing Bavarian-themed food such as brats and sauerkraut, pretzels with beer cheese, Reuben sandwiches, elephant ears with pumpkin topping, and caramel apples. Fall beers include Pumpkin Sour Beer, Posie Pilsner, and Hefeweizen Beer.
